Day 1: TORONTO - ANCHORAGE (August 10th)
Flight to Anchorage, Alaska. Transport to the hotel, accommodation, and night in Anchorage.
Day 2: ANCHORAGE - TALKEETNA (August 11th)
Drive to the town of Talkeetna, located in the foothills of Denali National Park. An opportunity for a scenic flight over the highest mountain peak in North America, Mount McKinley, that reaches 20,320 feet above sea level (the flight is one hour long and the charge is 195 USD per passenger. Day 3: TALKEETNA - DENALI NATIONAL PARK (August 12th)
All-day sightseeing of Denali National Park (ca. 30 USD). Regarded as one of the most beautiful parks around the globe, Denali National Park covers 9,492 mi². It boasts the presence of Mount McKinley, visible from a number of scenic outlooks, and of several glaciers, including the longest one, Kahiltna Glacier. Covered by a mix of coniferous taiga trees and the low tundra vegetation, the area is a natural habitat for a variety of birds and mammals. While hiking through the park, you can encounter black bears and grizzly bears, caribous, grey wolves, Arctic ground squirrels, beavers, hares, foxes, lynxes, and by the marsh, you can easily spot moose. Night in the vicinity of the park.
Day 4: DENALI NATIONAL PARK - FAIRBANKS (August 13th)
ADrive to Fairbanks, a town established in 1902 by gold miners, where the even years mark the beginning and the odd years mark the finish of the most difficult sled dog race in the world, the Yukon Quest. Sightseeing of the area. For those interested, there will be an opportunity to cruise a historical steamboat through the Chena River (55 USD) or to take a bath in the natural hot springs in the famous Chena Hot Springs resort (10 USD). Night in Fairbanks.
Day 5: FAIRBANKS (August 14th)
Drive to Pioneer Park (http://co.fairbanks.ak.us/pioneerpark), a historic theme park and museum boasting a huge collection of artifacts from the times of the first settlers. A chance to visit the local natural history museum and later, a choice of relaxing in the hot springs or with a fishing rod. Night in Fairbanks.
Day 6: FAIRBANKS - ANCHORAGE (August 15th)
Different route back to Anchorage. A stop by the picturesque Summit Lake with a stunning view of the glacier. Night at the lake.
Day 7: THE KENAI PENINSULA - GIRDWOOD (August 16th)
A variety of touristic and natural attractions on the Kenai Peninsula (the remnants of Russian settlements, a chance to relax while fishing the largest salmons in the world in the Kenai River, and many others.) Night in Girdwood, a town beautifully located in a post-glacial valley.
Day 8: SEWARD - CRUISE (August 17th)
Drive to the charming town of Seward. A chance to go on a cruise along the striking Alaskan fjords (150 USD), a time to admire northern flora and fauna, and a possibility of whale watching. Night in Girdwood.
Day 9: ALYESKA - ANCHORAGE - TORONTO (August 18th)
An aerial tram ride to the top of Mount Alyeska (20 USD), featuring the astonishing, panoramic view of Cook Inlet and seven glaciers. In the afternoon, a time for a stroll and shopping in Anchorage, and the evening flight back to Toronto.
Day 10: TORONTO (August 19th)
Landing in Toronto around noon.
