Journey to the heart of Africa - wild, free, untamed, where Nature still reigns supreme!
• Safari in unbeatable Serengeti National Park • Trip down to the Ngorongoro crater • Encounters with Masaya tribes • White beaches and rich culture of Zanzibar
Africa is the last continent where Nature still reigns supreme. Our trip to Kenya and Tanzania is a special treat for the aficionados of natural beauty, the wondrous power of nature, and of the rich cultures of local indigenous tribes, still pristine and untainted by civilization. Protected areas of South Africa or Tsavo National Park in Kenya, where masses of tourists and beachgoers from Mombasa travel around in jeeps, are just a modest substitute for the real safari. No park in the world can compare with Serengeti (which is the Masai phrase for the endless dry plains) and Ngoro Ngoro (the park created on the Africa’s largest caldera). The savanna adventure guarantees viewing of the fastest, most powerful, and most beautiful species; here you can face the Big Five (African elephant, cape buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhinoceros). Built on the parklands and adjusted to the tourists’ needs, overnight camps and lodges enable everyday close encounters with African wildlife. The night, spine-chilling sounds of howling hyenas and roaring rhinos, the starlit sky, and early morning wake-up calls, which are the parts of a daily activity routine, are just the beginning of real excitements. Ever since hunting was banned, animals have started to feel more at ease in the presence of men. Not sensing any danger from people, they hide only from the sun. As a result, during a safari, you can admire herds and herds of animals, free and happy to live in their natural habitat. Especially riverbanks and watering places have proved to be the most advantageous observation points.
However, Kenya and Tanzania are much more than the magic of the animal kingdom. The marvelous diversity of the two countries embraces not only the white, sandy stretches of wonderful beaches, coral reefs in Zanzibar, savannas, and equatorial tropical forests, but also ancient granite hills, sharp-edged volcanic cones, picturesque crater lakes, and finally, snowy peak of glorious Mount Kilimanjaro.
No place on the planet can compete with the local sunsets, the colors of the sky, and the taste of the air. The vast wilderness attracts zebras, which wallow in red dirt, changing their stripes to black and pink, skittish but noble giraffes, playful monkeys, and giant elephants, strolling in single file toward a watering place. Watching tall and slender silhouettes of Masai warriors, brisk and lively during their ceremonies, songs, and dances, will make you understand why anthropologists call them the most beautiful people in the world. During this adventure, you will not want to close your eyes for even a moment. In Zanzibar, where we finish our journey with a few relaxing days in the fairytale scenery of pristine beaches and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, we will feast our eyes on the underwater beauty of coral reefs. Moreover, we will observe and admire the casual, leisurely life of the inhabitants of the island famous for its clove cultivation and as a place where, in 1946, Freddie Mercury was born.
