We invite Canadian youth to participate in this very attractive, newly created educational program.
"Music and History Grade 11/12 Credit Course". A unique TCDSB partnership agreement with Poland provides a great opportunity for students. Leaving July 4, returning July 27, 2012, students will earn a grade 11 or 12 History/Music credit touring Krakow (Poland), Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary) and Poprad (Slovakia).
An exciting 24 days journey through history, time and 5 countries, experiencing Medieval and Gothic Castles, Rafting in the Dunajec Gorge, 14 Century Cathedrals, the world renown Wieliczka Salt Mine, the brutal reality of Auschwitz, Thermal pools in the Tatra Mountains and much, much more.
"Music and History Grade 11/12 Credit Course", over 3 - week program, will start 4th July 2012 in Cracow (Poland), where Canadian students will attend lectures, refine their skills in playing instruments and singing. They will also familiarize themselves with history of Art and history of other World War II. The scheduled itinerary includes visiting: museums, galleries, churches, monuments and architectural wonders of Cracow. Furthermore, there are scheduled trips to Auschwitz, Wieliczka, Zakopane, Ojców, Niepolomnice, Szczawnica (Rafting on the Dunajec).

Participants in this program may be currently attending Grade 10,11,or 12 in catholic, public and private schools. It is a program approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The organizer and executor of the program, in collaboration with the Polish Consulate in Toronto, is the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The number of spaces is quite limited.
vWith regard to the 'credit' - it's the IDC30 (Grade 11) and IDC4U (Grade 12).
The Ontario Ministry of Education allows a 'combination' of subjects to make up an the credit with 90 hours of 'instruction' (30 hours of instructions here in Toronto, then 24 full days, 'hands on', in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary).
